If you love Cannock Chase Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), why not become a volunteer?
The Cannock Chase AONB team is inviting nature lovers to join them on a series of volunteering days to help with conservation of important sites this spring.
The days include a range of jobs, such as heathland management, grass cutting and litter picking.
Emma Beaman, Assistant AONB Officer, said “Heading outside and taking part in nature conservation is a fantastic way to work as a group and give something back to the AONB. Being a part of the work we do is really rewarding and it’s a good way to meet likeminded people and to enjoy the great outdoors.”
The conservation days include heathland management at Shoal Hill Common on Monday 7 April, litter picking at Mill Green on Thursday 24 April, site preparation at Chasewater Country Park on Thursday 8 May, and grass cutting and collection at Muckley Corner on Wednesday 4 June.
The days start at 10am and will finish around 4pm. All equipment is provided, but you will need to bring a packed lunch and drinks if you stay for the whole day.
